Activities and Difficulty Range
Due to the remoteness of this state park and the amount of predatory wildlife that lives there, changing weather conditions and very mountainous terrain it is rated at a high difficulty level of recreation. However it is still one of the most popular trips and we often guide people here who have little to no experience with the outdoors. Depending on your activity that you wish to partake in it can be extremely rugged to recreate here or not rugged at all, such as photography and wildlife viewing. Hiking is great here and so is camping, yet it depends on where. This state park is massive and the more remote parts of the park can be difficult terrain to navigate. We always recommend that you consult professional Alaska guiding service before undertaking a trip to Kachemak State Park, you will not be disappointed!
